And with Stage Four, Touché Amoré has unmistakably made the biggest, boldest, and most artistic statement of their career. Cathartic in delivery, highly sentimental, and sonically triumphant, Stage Four is an emblem of a band both living its dream and marred by loss. Stage Four was recorded in early 2016 in Studio City, CA with producer Brad Wood. So when the time came to write Stage Four there was no question that it would be about passing of Bolm’s mother in late 2014. Touché albums have always served as an emotional outlet for Bolm. “I don’t open up to people too much in regular life, but when I’m writing songs, I want to be as open and as honest as possible,” Bolm confesses. Having earned early cred, critical favor, and legions of fans by playing lengthy tours of all shapes and sizes-in every basement, youth center, and house show-the band enjoyed a bigger following which only grew along with their talents. Touché Amoré crossed into new territory with the 2013 art-punk masterpiece Is Survived By. Over the years the band rose to prominence with 2009’s …To the Beat of a Dead Horse and 2011’s Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me. And now with Stage Four, their fourth and biggest album to date, they are cementing their status as one of rock music’s most talented, relatable, and visceral acts. Since those early days, lead singer Jeremy Bolm, guitarists Nick Steinhardt and Clayton Stevens, bassist Tyler Kirby, and drummer Elliot Babin have created a trajectory for themselves through hard work and dedication. Formed in Burbank, California, across 20, the band’s urgent sound, with its melodic sonic assault and impassioned vocals, has grown tighter and more refined through a trio of full-length albums and a series of EP’s and releases. ![]()

Still was considered one of the foremost color field painters – his non-figurative paintings are largely concerned with the juxtaposition of different colors and surfaces. In 1947, during a subsequent semester teaching at the California School of Fine Art (known today as the San Francisco Art Institute), Rothko and Still flirted with the idea of founding their own curriculum or school. Rothko, during the mid-1940s, was in the middle of a crucial period of transition, and he had been impressed by Clyfford Still's abstract fields of color, which were influenced in part by the landscapes of Still's native North Dakota. ![]() His final series of paintings from the mid-1960s were gray, and black with white borders, seemingly abstract landscapes of an endless bleak, tundra-like, unknown country. His bright reds, yellows and oranges of the early 1950s subtly transformed into dark blues, greens, grays and blacks. By 1958, whatever spiritual expression Rothko meant to portray on canvas, it was growing increasingly darker. What is common among these stylistic innovations is a concern for "tragedy, ecstasy and doom". ![]() In a sense, his best known works – the "multiforms" and his other signature paintings – are, in essence, the same expression, albeit one of purer (or less concrete or definable, depending on the interpretation) means, which is that of the same "basic human emotions", as his earlier surrealistic mythological paintings. For Rothko, color was "merely an instrument". Mark Rothko was one of the painters that Greenberg referred to as a color field painter exemplified by Magenta, Black, Green on Orange, although Rothko himself refused to adhere to any label. Taking issue with Harold Rosenberg (another important champion of abstract expressionism), who wrote of the virtues of action painting in his article "American Action Painters" published in the December 1952 issue of ARTnews, Greenberg observed another tendency toward all-over color or color field in the works of several of the so-called "first generation" abstract expressionists. During the late 1940s and early 1950s Clement Greenberg was the first art critic to suggest and identify a dichotomy between differing tendencies within the abstract expressionist canon. The focus of attention in the world of contemporary art began to shift from Paris to New York after World War II and the development of American abstract expressionism. ![]() Historical roots Henri Matisse, Porte-fenêtre à Collioure (French Window at Collioure), 1914, Centre Georges Pompidou, "Throughout my life, the 20th-century painter whom I've admired the most has been Matisse", Robert Motherwell 1970. Omar, the entertainment coordinator, met me the first day of class and explained how to have students sign in, but he never brought me the sign-in sheets each day as he said he would. There was nothing available to clean them with, but you spray them down in your shower. After that, I kept them in my room for easy access. There were 6 yoga mats I retrieved at concierge on the first day. On Thursday, a SUP yoga instructor taught in the pool at 9:30, so I only had the 8:30 class. I decided to teach yin for the first class and vinyasa for the second. Just got back from Zoetry Casa del Mar in Los Cabos! I taught 2 yoga classes, back to back, 8:30 and 9:30. Very healthy options plus very pleased to see (and order) Maker's Mark Bourbon! Loved it and as Denise said, I would go here over and over again - can't wait to go again and discover all the Zoetries! The food was great - unusual omelettes available - pink, green and orange ! Loved that they brought out juices, fruits and waters for yoga in the morning and hot tea for the evening class. Only had a sauna and a communal hot tub in spa area - both male/female shared. I had a massage - had to get a man cause I booked too late but he was very professional and it was good. The E-team manager told me that most guests just stay 3-4 days so not many participate in activities - I only had between 1-2 most days and the most (4) on Saturday morning. It had its own pool which they started to heat the last few days I was there-four pools on the property - main one was not being heated yet and it was cold! Yoga classes were at 9 am and 5 pm with low attendance and only one each on two of the evening classes. I stayed in one of the buildings close to the hacienda. only a little music playing at the pool bar and within the hotel, nice spa like music through out which I prefer to loud party music. It is a quiet, lovely reprieve from the hustle and bustle of life. The sand is so thick- there is a swimmable beach within a ten minute walk near the Hilton. It is a beautiful location - probably the longest beach I've ever seen. I taught yoga at Zoetry Cas del Mar November 14-19, '22. Overall, I can't recommend this resort ENOUGH! I would go back in a heartbeat. We also went into San Jose del Cabo for the Thursday night Art Walk it was very fun and we enjoyed getting to experience more local culture there. The AmStar representative in the lobby was able to help with that and was very friendly and efficient. The resort was so awesome, we barely left, but we did go into Cabo San Lucas for a whale watching tour. All of the staff are super accommodating and kind. The Mixology Class was super fun, and the spa was one of the nicest I've ever been to. We also made use of other entertainment opportunities and the spa at the resort. You can't swim in the ocean here (we even had to sign an agreement that we would not), but they have an awesome main pool with a swim up bar as well as several other smaller pools to enjoy. It was a thrill every single time! Our room was so beautiful and clean, and 24-hr room service is part of the Zoetry all-inclusive experience. We happened to be there at the end of whale season, and we saw whales in the ocean right off from the property morning, noon, and night. The resort is absolutely gorgeous, the food was amazing, and I have never had such sweet and attentive service from staff. Yoga class is in the 'quiet zone' between the ocean and pool. ![]() 8/28/2023 0 Comments Iphone shortcuts![]() ![]() For example, you can set this to turn on Low Power mode at 20%.
